It's not often that a news-blurb will be for 'petty' reasons, but this doesn't come along that often -- so something had to be said.

"The black rain is falling, contaminating the ground.
The human race is dying. The dead are scattered around.
What is the price of a bullet? Another hole in the head.
A flag draped over a coffin. Another soldier is dead."

- Ozzy Osbourne, Black Rain ...2007

Buy the album, which trumps the previous two releases, easily (and said previous releases were fantastic).

Ozzy, himself, feels it to be no less than a surmounting of the epic No More Tears, although SpinelliCreations beggs to differ. If anything, Black Rain is 'as good' as No More Tears; however, it is doubtful that any musician of human origin will ever eclipse NMT.

On a side note, Ozzfest is free this year. Yes, free -- F R E E.

The downside of sequentially numbered drives is that a bad batch means all your drives are toast. But, Western Digital made good on them all. Finally finished syncing the new raid-level-6 array, re-cycled the raid-1 array, and preserved all data. Life's good.

Now back to the 150 million other things that have to be done...

News, updates, etc. have been sparse at best... collegiate obligatins and such.

However, May 14 & 15 were scheduled downtime for machine expansion. Two ATX towers are now bolted together to provide additional drive bays as well as room for another power supply (they match, don't worry).

May 18 will likely be another down day, as additional drives will be arriving. Gross storage will exceed 2.4 Terabytes. Hence the added supply, as power requirements will be in the 400-watt-at-idle / 800-watt-under-load range.

"Long live the Socket A platform" and our good friends, Western Digital.
